Thank you to all sponsors who made this experience possible for our kids!

Boys & Girls Clubs across the Emerald Coast partnered together for a field trip to the Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum. Several of our kids from each of our Club sites as well as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Escambia County had the opportunity to visit this museum last month as part of the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Summer Program.

A once in a lifetime trip for these students, the day began on the tarmac with an air show by the Blue Angels. Following the air show, students had an opportunity to meet the Blue Angels pilots and get autographs. Students also watched the IMAX film “Fighter Pilot”, toured the museum, and experienced a flight simulator.

The trip was made possible by the generous donations of individuals and community support by the city of DeFuniak Springs with a pork chop dinner fundraiser.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast would like to thank Tom Baker, Walton County Advisory Board Member, for initially making this opportunity possible for our kids and for paying for the teen’s admission to the museum. Additionally, a big thank you to First Apostolic Church, Matthews & Hawkins, Army Aviation Credit Union, World Ford (Pensacola), Frank Walker, Steve Christopher,  Gulf Power, Chelco, Subway of DFS,  David King, Tom Baker, and DFS Wal-Mart; as well as the News Herald and WZEP for helping promote the pork chop dinner fundraiser.
