The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast owe the success of our Clubs in large part to our committed volunteers. There are many different ways in which individuals can volunteer and make a difference in the lives of the youth that we serve. Each and every volunteer is a part of fulfilling our mission to empower kids. Some of the ways that people within our community can volunteer their time are:
- Special Events Volunteer - Our special events volunteers can volunteer their time at many different events throughout the year and have a lot of fun, while working hard for the benefit of all our kids
- Project Learn - This program consists of Homework Help and Tutoring as well as High-Yield Learning and Leisure Activities using traditional teaching and learning methodology. Volunteers are needed for tutoring and helping members with homework.
- Character Counts - This program helps members to build character and values in six key areas: trustworthiness, respect for others, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Adult volunteers are needed to mentor members and provide a good role model for right and wrong.
- Keystone Clubs - This program teaches our members the importance of community service and caring for others. Volunteers are needed to attend meetings and work with teen members in regard to Keystone Club activities.
- Mentoring Program - We need successful adults who are willing to serve as positive role models for our youth members in a one on one setting at least one hour a week for a minimum of 13 weeks meeting with the youth at the Club. Time can be spent talking, doing homework, playing games or participating in other Club programs.
