Ft. Walton Beach, FL – Summer’s just around the corner and soon parents and caregivers will be looking for ways to keep kids active, engaged and entertained.  Thanks to a partnership with Regal Entertainment Group, 200 members of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast Denton Blvd Club will enjoy free admission to the movies this summer through the Free Family Film Festival.  Regal Entertainment Group is also providing the Club with a stipend to help cover staff expenses and transportation.

Boys & Girls Clubs partner with UWF to teach kids to be green

Pensacola, FL, June 15, 2010 — On Thursday, June 10, University of West Florida engineering graduates Carol Chanley and Ashley Oram delivered a Solar Mini-Lab to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC) Pensacola Club. The lab was built as part of their final senior project to show the youth of BGCEC how solar energy works.

The Emerald Coast Autism Society (ECAS) in conjunction with Zumba® fitness BY GLORIA, is hosting a “ZUMBAthon 4 Autism Awareness” on Saturday, May 22nd 2010, from 12pm – 4pm at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC) Gymnasium located at 923 B Denton Blvd (intersection with Racetrack Blvd) in Fort Walton Beach.

Destin, FL, April 23, 2010 — The kids of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast’s 21st Century program participated in a Community Beach Clean Up at Henderson Beach as a service learning project on April 17, 2010 from 7:45 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A total of 42 participants, including members, staff and parents from the Escambia, DeFuniak Springs, Okaloosa and Denton Boys & Girls Clubs, came out to support this event.

$8,500 GRANT FROM TACO BELL FOUNDATION FOR TEENS

Ft. Walton Beach, FL – Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast are being recognized with a $6,000 contribution from local Taco Bell franchisees, Reed Nelson and Ashley Siner of Transition Restaurant Group, Inc. and a $2,500 grant from the national Taco Bell Foundation for Teens to fund real-world experience programs that help encourage them to stay in school and consider future career possibilities.

We are currently taking applications for our summer program. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast is not just a daycare. Even through the summer, we will be following our curriculum of education, art and fun. If your child will be 4 by September 1st, we will accept your 3 year old into our program.

The University of Alabama’s Team Chaplain and former NFL Player, Jeremiah Castille, will share his personal story on what it takes to be a champion at The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC) DeFuniak Springs Teen Center’s second annual Steak & Burger Dinner on Thursday, March 11 at 6 PM at the DeFuniak Springs Community Center. Proceeds will support the annual operating costs of the Teen Center. Corporate and community sponsors are being sought for the event.
