Destin nightclub Nightown Raises Almost $3,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs During Opening Weekend

May 20, 2009—Destin, Fla. – One of the longest-running, same-named, same-ownership nightclubs along the Emerald Coast, Nightown, re-opened its doors to the public this past weekend. The venue took donations in lieu of a cover charge for its invitation-only VIP event on Friday, May 15 and donated 50% of the cover charges for its public opening on Saturday, May 16. The total donation of nearly $3,000 for the weekend was presented to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC) at a ribbon cutting ceremony held yesterday at 4 p.m. “We are incredibly excited that we could make this donation to such a worthy organization. The BGCEC is a wonderful place for our community and it was our pleasure to be a part of it,” said Nightown’s Director of Marketing David A. Williams. Nightown was able to raise $2,890 for the BGCEC during these two nights. This donation will be automatically matched by a grant the Boys & Girls Clubs obtained through other sources for its Walton County facility. “The youth of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast very much appreciate your support. This generous donation will be matched by another generous donor and will allow us to provide many more scholarships for club members in our community. Nightown is a high-energy dance club located in the heart of Destin on Palmetto Street two blocks east of the Destin Bridge. Club patrons will find a mix of top 40, R&B and Rap played by some of today’s hottest DJ’s. Nightown has been a Destin landmark for 30 years.
