The week of Monday, March 29, 2010 celebrates Boys & Girls Clubs Week in the Emerald Coast. For this national celebration, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast plans special events to entertain and educate local kids.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast celebrates the successes and positive choices of its members daily, but at the end of each year, the staff at each Club picks youth that stand above the rest. The following youth won Youth of the Year for each of our Clubs: Labresha P., Ashley R., Amanda M., Alisha E. and David W.
Nearly 1,100 organizations applied and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast was selected as one of 225 to receive a Back your Block Grant from Nike!
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast is celebrating Boys & Girls Clubs Day For Kids on Saturday, September 19 at the Emerald Coast Conference Center from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. It’s a time for us all - parents, grandparents, mentors and other caregivers - to take time and reconnect with the kids in our lives. This event is completely FREE and open to the public.

Each year Boys & Girls Club youth are nominated by staff members for Club awards recognizing outstanding achievement. The 2009 winners were announced at the BGCEC’s annual awards dinners this February. Congratulations to all of our winners!
The Walton County Prevention Coalition is providing support once again to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast. The Boys & Girls Club Teen Center in DeFuniak Springs and the Boys & Girls Club in South Walton each received a new computer thanks to the Walton County Prevention Coalition. The donation helps our kids develop computer skills and learn how to wisely and effectively navigate the internet in a safe and positive environment. Our staff members provide useful direction and encourage our kids to use their own creativity as they gain a better understanding of digital arts. This empowers them to be inspired and to be an inspiration to others.
